I first came across J Gourmet Catering and Joanne 5 years ago while looking for a caterer for my annual Holiday party. After receiving several overpriced proposals and encountering caterers with attitude, Joanne was a refreshing change! I hired her in 2004 and haven’t looked back.
Joanne is my go-to person for all my catering needs. She has catered our annual event for 100 people along with my 40th Birthday party and numerous other events for anywhere from 10-100 people. Joanne is professional and extremely enthusiastic about making your event a success. She will work with you to design a catering menu around your theme and within your budget. Joanne has a wide variety of food options that will suit anyone’s taste. We have guests that year-after-year look forward to some of her creations!
In addition to the catering, Joanne will set up professional looking food displays and even arrange for serving and bartending staff. If you want to spend a lot of money and deal with a caterer with attitude, there are plenty of them out there. If you want an event with great food and someone with a ton of enthusiasm who is committed to making your event a success, you will not be disappointed with J Gourmet Catering.

We have a boat and wanted to take out 20 people for an afternoon cruise. Had Joanne Bailey at J Gourmet Catering come onboard and cook up some appetizers during the cruise and she did a fantastic job. Everyone loved the food and the service onboard was awsome. No matter where you want J Gourmet Catering to go and serve up food, she is always there. Best food and service by far. We are going to do it again!

Hosted a beautiful wedding in my backyard today and the couple chose Joanne to cater their event. We booked this service 8 days before the wedding (about 40 people on July 5, 2014). The caterer came to the house and helped us plan food that would fit the occasion, our preferences, the crazy dietary restrictions of various guests and the unconventional set up of venue and wedding (eating before ceremony). They accommodated our wish to use our own dishes, utensils and grill, and had all cleaned up before leaving. Everyone enjoyed the food.

I live in Southern California, sadly, and every year I help organize a dinner event for the alumni of a UC Berkeley student organization. With an ever-changing budget, number of attendees, and venue each year, it can become quite the hazy mishmash especially since I’m not from the Bay Area. This year I left it up to one of the amazing young leaders of the aforementioned student group, and she THANKFULLY chose Joanne’s catering service to help us out this year.
As event planning goes, I’m all about the logistics: I’ve been gathering these folks together for YEARS, and I gladly take on the responsibility of doing so. However, I’m never one for planning details like food and beverage, and Joanne and her team blissfully took gracious care of all of us.
All while staying within our somewhat-unreasonable-but-still-functional budget, Joanne designed a PERFECT dinner buffet menu for us, including an absolutely DELICIOUS salmon that still makes my mouth water recalling it right now. Aside from the incredible food, she and her staff were professional, efficient, extremely patient, and even packed up our leftovers to take back home with us.
At the end of the event, all the alums (and even some of the lucky college kids who got to sample our leftovers, natch) raved about how awesome the food was. I am 100% willing to go with Joanne’s services again next year, provided that we can find another suitable venue.
